2019,attheTajWestEndalongwiththeClubAssemblywiththe

BoardofDirectors.Thedaystartedwiththeinaugurationofthe

ExtensionoftheHSISDispensary-withtheeﬀortsofPPMasood

bhaiandthemagnanimityofthesponsors-PPIrfanbhai,ourDG

inauguratedthisproject.

DuringtheGOV,DGhadgreatpraiseforMidtownanditsbeinga

rolemodelinbeingtheirstinmanyavenuesandsettingthe

trendbybeingaleader.

TheDist.OficialshadgreatpraisefortheBackoficeactivitiesandaverycomprehensivereportwas

presentedatthisGOV.

Allthiswaspossiblebyyourinvolvementandsupport-inallways!!

Wehave,plannedverysystematicallytheremaining6monthsoftheyearwithsomegreatservice

projectsandmemorablefellowships.

Convention.DiscoverthetruespiritofalohaandRotarywithyour

family,friends,andfellowRotariansfrom6to10JuneinHonolulu.It

is the perfect setting for the entire family of Rotary to celebrate,

collaborate,andconnect.

TherearetwotypesofpeoplewhoenjoyvisitstoHawaii—thosewho

have neverbeen to the islands and are about tohave unique and

wonderful experiences, and those who have had those Hawaiian

moments etched into their memories already and cannot wait to

createsomenewones.

Theconventionisthebestplacetoindandshareyouraloha,which

youwillsoondiscoverismuchmorethanagreeting.



Our host committee has arranged some fabulous events for you and your family. This includes a

Hawaiian Culture and Lunch Boat Cruise, a two-hour tour that will feature spectacular views of

DiamondHead,Waikiki,andtheKahalaGoldCoast.Onboard,youcanlearntoplaytheukulele,takepart

inhuladancing,andcreateyourownHawaiianlowerlei.

Youwillalsohavetheopportunitytoenjoyafullrangeofislandhospitalityevents,fromsmallbackyard

picnicstomulticoursefamilymeals.Therewillbefantasticserviceprojectstosee,includingtwoancient

Hawaiianishponds.AndasunriseWalkforPeacewilltakeplaceatthebeautifulAlaMoanaBeachPark,

a3-milestrollintheshadowoftheiconicDiamondHeadcrater.

Insideandoutsidetheconventionhalls,wearegoingtoholdthemostfamily-friendlyconventionin

Rotaryhistory,includingafamily-centeredopeningceremonyandfamily-focusedeventsintheHouseof

Friendship.Theopeningsessionwill,ofcourse,includeourtraditionallagceremony.

Our2020conventionwillalsobeatimetocelebrateRotary'shistoricaltiestotheUnitedNations.AsI

mentionedinmyNovembermessage,June2020willmarkthe75thanniversaryofthesigningofthe

UnitedNationscharter.Onthedaybeforethestartoftheconvention,RotaryandtheUNwillhostour

ifthjointeventof2019-20,onefocusedonenvironmentalsustainability.

Inaddition,weareplanningthegreenestconventioninRotaryhistory—andIwillsharemoredetails

President Kamal Bhandari  handed over the cheque to Satvidya RuralCollege and commitment letter to Rotary

Spandana for providing a refurbished vehicle for your team “Bhoomtayi Balaga” which is involved in creating

Awarenessonenvironment,water,lifestyleandsustainabilitythroughmusic.AprojectfortheAnnsforawarenessof

WomenHealthandHygienewiththeassistanceofAsstGovernorRtnRameshKumarwasalsoannounced.Aproject

withaRuralClub–RotaryBangaloreSiddarabeta–supporttosettingupaTailoringLab–letterofcommitmentwas

alsohandedovertoPresRtnJaychandraAradhyaofSiddarabeta.

AninsightintotheSKINBankactivitieswaspresentedbyDr.Smita,VictoriaHospital.

DistrictGovernorRtn.Dr.SameerHarianiaddressedthegathering,appreciatedtheprojectstakenforwardwhichhelps

coveringanareaof2000sqftwillbecoveredinthisphase.
